Zionist student association that was primarily active between 1899 and 1914 at the Karl Ferdinand University in Prague. The Bar Kochba Association (Verein jüdischer Hochschüler Bar Kochba) was dedicated to cultural Zionism in the style of Aḥad Ha-Am and Martin Buber. Its members developed a specific variant of Judaism in the essay collection Vom Judentum (1913), which became very well-known, and which critiqued the efforts to create a Jewish national state…
