12th-15th century. Italy. The Annales Florentini consist of three different sets of historical records focussing mainly on events that occurred in the city of Florence. They are written in Latin and cover the period between the early 12th century and the mid-15th century. Pietro Santini considered the first two sections, which Otto Hartwig called Annales Florentini I and Annales Florentini II, to be prototypes for later compilations and the Gesta Florentinorum.
