1407-1483. Italy. Gaspare was born to Angelo Broglio in the first half of 1407 in Siena, where his father was in the service of the Republic. He received a good humanistic education but later preferred to devote himself to the profession of arms. At first, he entered the service of Francesco Sforza and then of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, lord of Rimini, who hired him as captain and ambassador in 1443.
