Lord of Hubrechtsambacht and Snedelwijk. He was courtier in the service of Jacqueline of Bavaria and Frank van Borssele. After the countess’ death in 1436, Potter was closely involved in the handling of her estate (1436-1444). Under Philip the Good, he was baljuw of 's-Gravenzande (1436-1445) and seated in the Council of Holland, based in the Binnenhof at The Hague. These functions required him to travel extensively in the Low Countries, France and Germany.
