Before 1429–1456/57. Switzerland. Baker in Basel. Brüglinger is documented in 1429 as a member of the bakers' guild, became its guild master, and in 1439 was appointed as a member of the small council of Basel. Brüglinger was well-off and served in military expeditions as part of the cavalry. He wrote a chronicle about the war between Basel and the House of Habsburg from 1444 to 1446. On the whole, his description is in line with the descriptions in the town books of Basel (see Chronikalien der Stadtbücher von Basel). He sees the town as threatened and worries about its…
