Jörg (or Georg) Vögeli, the town clerk of Konstanz, was a most productive writer and the author of the great Reformation Chronicle of Konstanz and many historical and other works. He was born into the family of the episcopal notary Nikolaus Vögeli. Part of his education was an apprenticeship with a notary at the episcopal law court in Konstanz.
