[141c] When a treaty agreement had been reached between Shah Shujaʿ, Ranjit Singh, and the English government, Shah Shuja’ marched out of Ludhiana with English forces bound for Shikarpur on the twenty-second of Shaʿban 1254/10 November 1838, at the time Muhammad Shah Qajar was besieging Herat.
