The account of the ascension of Christ (Acts 1:1–14) constitutes part of the Lucan kerygma of the exaltation of the Lord. For this reason it must be viewed in the context of the NT theology of exaltation as a whole. In Matthew and Paul resurrection and exaltation constitute a unity.
