Following the further review of 1997-1998, the General Assembly decided, in resolution 53/214, 18 December 1998, to accept the recommendation of the ACABQ on the pensions of the members of the Court. At the same time, it amended the pensions regulations to the effect that pensions in payment shall be automatically revised by the same percentage and at the same date as salary adjustments. The next such review was to take place in the 56th session (2001).¹
