In the broad sense, the title on which the jurisdiction of the Court rests is based on a combination of the constituent instruments governing the Court’s constitution and working - the Charter, the Statute and the Rules of Court - and with them the particular instrument or instruments embodying the agreement of the parties to submit the case to the Court.
