Despite these and other criticisms of the previous arrangements, the Washington Committee of Jurists proposed leaving the existing general structure untouched, simply substituting a reference to the General Assembly of the United Nations for the Assembly of the League in Article 33 of the Statute, and deleting the words ‘on the proposal of the Council’.
