Brother and close associate of al-Shaykh al-Ṭāhir. In the 1850s he migrated to Sawākin, where he married a woman from the local Shādhilīyāb. In the 1870s, when the Majādhīb gradually retreated from Sawākin, he chose to live with a section of the Artēga in Khōr Baraka, leaving his wife in Tokar. Having joined ʿUthmān Diqna together with his brother, he was killed in the battle of Efāfe (Tokar).
