Biography
His full name is ʿAbd ar-Raḥmān b. Āfliwāṭ b. Muḥammaddu al-Mukhtār b. Aḥmadin Atfagha. He was from the Tajakānat and more precisely the Ramāẓīn clan. According to Ibn Ḥāmidun, he excelled in jurisprudence and in the wisdom of his adjudication. His dictation was impeccable and, among his accomplishments, he attempted to revive an ancient city of the Tajakānat, Tīnīguī (تينيكي), and composed a poem on the subject.
