Biography

He was born into a Fulani family in Gédé in Futa Toto. His mentors in Arabic and Islamic studies include al-ḥājj Kamara and Shaykh Mor Ngirane and, last but not least, al-ḥājj Mālik Sy, with whom he stayed for several years in Tivaouane.
