Biography

A full sister of Muḥammad Bello, she married the army commander ʿAlī Jedo. Their daughter Maryam married the wazir Khalīl b. ʿAbd al-Qādir (q.v.).

Works

She wrote verses in Fulfulde of which the following two are noted in ʿArf al-rayḥān:

i) Q. fī-man balagha khamsīn wa-sittīn wa-sabʿīn.

ii) Q. fī faḍāʾil al-ṣalāt ʿalā ’l-nabī wa-faḍāʾil al-dhikr.
