Alt. name: Gaṣrī b. Muḥammad b. ʿUthmān al-Niʿmāwī (AMMS); Gaṣrī an-Niʿmāwī (Ibn Hamidun and Heymowski).

Teachers: aṭ-Ṭālib Bashīr b. al-Ḥāj al-Hādī al-Idayllbī.

Gaṣrī b. al-Faqīh Muḥammad b. al-Mukhtār b. al-Gaṣrī al-Idayllbī is remembered as one of the greatest scholars and teachers in the history of Shinqit. He was born in Walata where he spent the first half of his life sudying and teaching. He held great expertise in jurisprudence and in issuing legal opinions as a qāḍī and arbitrator.
