Biography

Alt. name: Ḥabīb b. Muḥammad al-Idaylabī (AMMS); al-Ḥabīb b. Sīdī Muḥammad b. Sīd Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad al-Bakr al-Idailabī (MLG).

His full name is al-Ḥabīb b. Sīdī Muḥammad b. Sīdī Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad al-Bakr al-Idayllbī al-Walātī. He hailed from the Idayliba tribe which, according to some of their genealogists, should be counted among the Tajakānat. He is remembered as a grammarian, linguist, and Ḥadīth specialist.
