This chapter lists mainly scholars of Timbuktu, but includes a small section on minor scholars of Māsina. The more celebrated scholars of the Māsina region, such as Aḥmad Lobbo and al-ḥājj ʿUmar b. Saʿīd are to be found in Chapter 5.
