Biography

Teachers: Maḥmūd b. ʿUmar at-Tinbuktī.

Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Abī Bakr b. Ibrāhīm b. al-Ḥāj ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad b. Abān was from the Idaw al-Ḥāj tribe and, within it, the Awlād al-Ḥāj. He was a jurist who studied with Aḥmad al-Miska wuld Aḥmad Bāba at-Timbuktī, and it is mentioned in his book Mawhūb al-Jalīl that his shaykh was Maḥmūd b. ʿUmar at-Timbuktī.
