Biography

In 1947 he founded the Madrasat al-Falāḥ, Segu, of which he has been ever since the director. Its pedagogy is modern and since 1959 it has combined Islamic learning with elements of Western/French secular learning. His grandfather was a teacher of Alfa Hāshim (q.v.), though aʿd himself is largely self-taught..
