Biography
Born in Nguick, near Louga, he studied first the Qurʾān, and the Arabic and the Islamic sciences with his father Ḥasan Gaye. More advanced studies were then undertaken with al-ḥājj Mālik Muḥammad al-Hādī Ture in Fass Ture.
