“The Funj Chronicle”
“The Funj Chronicle” is the conventional name given by Western scholarship to the only major extant historical chronicle from the Nilotic Sudan. Despite its conventional name, the chronicle has more to say on the Turco-Egyptian period (1821-85) than on the period of the Funj Sultanate of Sinnār (c. 1504-1821).
