The Spanish Divine Office comprised two distinct types: the cursus cathedralis (ecclesiasticus) (“cathedral Office) and the cursus monasticus (“monastic Office”). The main difference is that the cathedral (ecclesiastical) Office boasted a wide variety of liturgical books, whereas the monastic Office relied only on the Psalter and the Liber Horarum.
