Adimantus is known as the author of “some disputations” that have been refuted by Augustine of Hippo in Contra Adimantum and in some of his sermons. In the extensive corpus of Augustine’s writings, the proper name “Adimantus” is found nearly 40 times. More than half of Augustine’s references to Adimantus are in Contra Adimantum.
