Aelius Donatus

Aelius Donatus is considered one of the most influential grammarians of the Latin language. He lived in the 4th century CE. The year of his birth and death are unknown. The only date that is considered certain is that Donatus taught in Rome in 354 CE, according to the testimony of his student Jerome.
