T. Flavius Vespasianus (Nov 17, 9 CE–Jun 24, 79 CE), commonly known as Vespasian, ruled as Roman emperor from 69 to 79 CE. He was the founder of the Flavian dynasty, which followed the reign of the Julio-Claudians (27 BCE–68 CE) and the so-called Year of the Four Emperors (68/69 CE).
