Thomas Ball Barratt (1862–1940) was a British-Norwegian pastor, evangelist, and writer who has become known as the “apostle of Pentecostalism to Europe,” due to his important role in the revival’s first years (Alegre 2019). Barratt was born in Albaston, in Cornwall, England, to devout Wesleyan Methodist parents. When he was five years old the family moved to Norway, as his father had accepted a position as the manager of a sulphur ore mine at Varaldsøy in Hardanger.
