The Bjørners were pioneers of the Pentecostal movement in Denmark and contributed to the spread of the Apostolic Church in Europe. Anna’s fame as a former actress drew international attention to the early Pentecostal movement.

Anna Larssen Bjørner (1875–1955; née: Halberg) was born into a cosmopolitan family in Copenhagen with strong connections to the theatre.
