Arthur Henry Dallimore (1873–1970) was born in Kent, England raised as a Baptist and later became an Anglican. At age seven, he was healed of typhoid fever through his parent’s prayers. This experience made an indelible mark on his life, and he would later claim to have been raised from the dead. He moved with his parents to New Zealand in 1886 where the family attended a Wesleyan Church in Opunake. Here, a Methodist missioner invited him to be involved in ministry.
