Niko Njotorahardjo was born in Bondowoso, a city in the East Java province of Indonesia, on February 20, 1949. He is married to Hermien Herawati, and together they have one son, Billy Njotorahardjo, who is a pastor (Handoyo and Leenardo 2019). Niko Njotorahardjo was trained as an agricultural engineer.
