Italian archaeologist. Born 28. 4. 1889 in Villafranca Veronese, died 9. 6. 1961 in Padua. Completed studies (Laurea) 1911 at Bologna with Gherardo Gherardini, then continued studies with Emanuel Löwy and Adolfo Venturi in Rome. Spent time in Greece in 1914, making contact with Luigi Pernier, Wilhelm Biagio Pace, Dörpfeld, Panagiotis Kavvadias et al. 1922 prof. of Greek and Roman archaeology at Univ. of Padua.
