German philologist and pedagogue. Born 5. 12. 1764 in Frankfurt a. M., died Berlin 21. 6. 1829 (orig. Huguenot family name Boudemont). Studied from 1782 in Göttingen, from 1786 in Strasbourg. 1787 tutor to the princely heir of Anhalt-Dessau. Assistant from 1789, librarian and secretary from 1796 of the Königliche Bibliothek in Berlin; 1800–1808 teacher at the Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium, Berlin.
