From 1908, prof. at Troyes; from 1913 maître (lecturer) at Lille, from 1920 prof. there. From 1924 maître de conférences, from 1928 prof. at Sorbonne in Paris. From 1925 directeur of the EPHE; from 1946 prof. at Collège de France there. [15. 79].
