Seminary in Bergamo from 1796; entered the Jesuit order in 1799; studied at Parma and elsewhere, then from 1806 at the Collegio Romano in Rome and at Orvieto; 1806 holy orders. 1810 examination. 1811–1819 clerk at the Bibliotheca Ambrosiana in Milan; 1813 custodian.
