Studied ancient history, classical philology and law at the Univs. of Berlin and Rostock. 1929 Assessorexamen, then proofreading assistant to Wolfgang Kunkel in Göttingen. 1930/31 and 1933–1935 worked on Thesaurus Linguae Latinae in Munich. 1932 law degree, then worked in the judiciary until his dismissal in 1933. 1935 emigrated to Panama, where he was prof. of Roman and Panamanian l…
