The toponym Moab denotes the landscape to the east of the Jordan between the Dead Sea in the west, the Arabian Desert in the east and the  Wadi el-Hesa in the south. Its northern boundary ran at various removes north and south of the  Wadi el-Muğğib (OT River Arnon; Barrington Atlas 71) [8]; [9]; [10].
