Phoenician from Tyre (Diod. Sic. 14,98) or Citium (Theopomp. FGrH 115 F 103), who murdered the Tyrian usurper of Salamis c. 415 BC (Isoc. Or. 9,26).  Evagoras, who fled to Soli under A., returned in 411 (Isoc. Or. 9,26-32; Diod. Sic. loc. cit.) and restored the Greek monarchy.
