Nowadays Ventimiglia in Italy. City of the Liguri Intimilii (Str. 4,6,2), municipium with duoviri of the regio IX (Plin. HN 3,48), tribus Falerna, on the via Iulia Augusta , seat of a bishop, Byzantine castrum. Disturbances in 49 BC (Cic. Fam. 8,15,2), devastations through the supporters of Otho in AD 69 (Tac. Agr. 7; Hist. 2,13). Abandoned in the high Middle Ages. Archaeological remains: wall, insulae , thermae, theatre, necropolis, aquaduct.
