(Ἄργης; Árgēs). One of the three Cyclopes, along with Brontes (brontḗ, ‘thunder’) and Steropes (steropḗ, ‘lightening’). His name comes from argḗs, a stock expression for lightening (Hes. Theog. 140; Apollod. 1,1).
