(Βαρσαέντης; Barsaéntēs). Under Darius satrap of Arachosia and Drangiana; commanded the Arachotes and the neighbouring Indians in the battle of Gaugamela. He murdered Darius in mid 330 BC together with Bessus and Nabarzanes, then fled to his satrapy and from there to India. When Alexander [4] reached the Indus, B. was handed over to him and executed.
