(Κῆρυξ; Kêryx). Progenitor of the priestly lineage of Ceryces officiating in Eleusis, according to whom he was the son of Hermes and one of the three daughters of Cecrops, Aglaurus [2], Herse or Pandrosus; according to another genealogy, he was the son of Eumolpus (schol. Soph. OC 1053).
