The possibly only incomplete comparison, as appearing in three MSS from the 9th and 10th cents., of selected Roman legal norms mainly concerning family law, the law of inheritance and most especially penal law (Coll. 6,71: humana sententia, lex: ‘Legal opinion and the people's law’) with corresponding OT norms (Coll. 6,71: divina sententia; lex Dei) can be dated on account of Coll. 5,3 to Cod. Theod. 9,7,6 to some time between 390 and 438 and must have been drawn up by an anonymous author, probably Christian rather than Jewish, under the possibly incomplete title Lex Dei q…
