Contiomagus

Vicus of the Contiomagienses (AE 1959,76) belonging to the civitas Treverorum near a crossing of the Saar on the Roman road Divodurum -- Mogontiacum at today's Pachten (part of Dillingen an der Saar). Of cultural significance is a theatre building with names inscribed on the stone seats (BRGK 58, 1977, 476, 27). Destroyed in AD 275/76, C. was reconstructed at the beginning of the 4th cent. as a rectangular citadel (1.9 ha.).
