1. Hdt. 1,145 mentions Aegae , Aegira, Aegium, Bura, Dyme, Helice , Olenus, Patrae, Pharaea and Tritaea  as members of the Achaean dodekapolis, which the Achaeans are said to have taken from the Iones when they drove them out.
