Tribe north-east of Rome between the Monti Cimini and the Tiber, culturally closely connected with the Latins and Etruscans. The capital city was  Falerii (Civita Castellana), and there were also towns called  Narce (Fescennium?),  Capena, Nepi ( Nepete) and Sutri ( Sutrium). From the 8th cent. BC Falerii and Narce flourished under the influence of Etruscan  Veii. The fossa burials ( Funerary architecture) contain not just Italian bronze and clay wares but also Oriental imports (northern Syrian seals and Assyrian bronze bowls with cuneifo…
