P.G. Laco. Knight from Verona. Successor of Sutorius Macro as praefectus vigilum in AD 31; he supported him in the elimination of Seianus ( Aelius [II 19]); therefore, the Senate bestowed upon him the ornamenta quaestoria. He was procurator in Gallia under Claudius during the Britannia campaign, possibly entrusted with a special logistic function for the campaign. He was honoured with a statue and ornamenta consularia by the Senate in 44 at the request of Claudius; in addition, he received a seat in the Senate as often as he escorted Claudius…
