I. Cult and Myth
H. is the daughter of Kronos and Rhea and wife of Zeus. On the one hand, she is associated with the world of the early polis (esp. with young warlike men), on the other and primarily, she is the tutelary goddess of marriage, her marriage to Zeus representing the prototype.
