Matidius
(112 words)

[German version]

C. Salonius M. Patruinus. Senator from Vicetia in Upper Italy. He was praetor before 78 AD, when he acted as magister of the Arvales fratres . He died the same year (CIL VI 2056). An inscription from Vicetia refers to another senator who was elevated to the Senate by Claudius; whether he became a patrician at the same time is disputed [1; 2. 324ff.]. He is either M. or his father. M. was married to Trajan's sister, Ulpia Marciana. Their daughter was Matidia [1] the Elder. PIR2 M 365; 366.
