Iberian people in the region of modern Alcoy, north of Alicante in southeastern Spain, with a centre in Althaea or Cartana (Pol. 3,13f.; 33,9; Liv. 21,5; site unknown); subjugated by Hannibal  straight after he was appointed strategos in 221 BC. In 219 the O. sent troops to Africa to secure the Libyan coast.
