Equestrian from Nursia. Three times he was a tribunus  militum in a legion, including the Legio I, then a praefectus  castrorum, no earlier than the time of Augustus (Suet. Vesp. 1,3; cf. [1. 155-160]). His daughter was Vespasia Polla; one of his sons reached the rank of senator (cf. Vespasianus, with stemma).
